What we store.
There are no accounts on YamiTools, so there is not much. This page describes what the site actually does.
Browsing
You can read every page without signing in. We do not ask for your email to browse and we do not run advertising trackers.
Ratings
When you rate a tool we store the rating, a random identifier kept in a cookie named ytfp, and a one-way SHA-256 hash of your IP address. The random identifier stops the same browser rating one tool twice; the IP hash is used only to rate-limit abuse. We do not store your IP address itself, and neither value is published — raw ratings are never publicly readable.
Submissions and payments
If you submit a tool we store what you typed into the form, including your name and email, so we can review the submission and tell you the outcome. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, who act as merchant of record. Card details never reach our servers — we receive only an order reference and an amount.
All email is sent through Resend, who process it on our behalf. Two kinds go out.
Transactional. Receipts and outcomes for a paid submission, and a notice to a tool owner when their ranking slot is challenged. These go to the address on the submission or the listing, because they are the thing you paid for or need to know about — there is nothing to unsubscribe from.
The weekly digest. Opt-in only, and double opt-in at that: we store your address unconfirmed and send nothing further until you click the confirmation link. If you never confirm, that one email is all you get. We keep the address, the time you confirmed, and a one-way hash of the IP the signup came from. We do not track opens or clicks, and we never share or sell the list. Every digest carries a one-click unsubscribe, which takes effect immediately.
To be deleted from the list entirely rather than marked unsubscribed, email us and we will remove the row.
Analytics and hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Analytics, which counts page views and a small number of interaction events without cookies and without building a profile of you. Vercel also processes standard server logs as our hosting provider.
Your data
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, email hello@yamitools.com. Clearing your browser cookies removes the ytfp identifier, which is the only thing linking you to your ratings.
