Placement is advertising. It does not change your rank or your composite score, and featured tools are marked as such. If you want to move up the ranking, that is the challenge route, and no amount of money shortcuts it.
It ends when it ends
The placement stops on its own at the end of the period — nothing to cancel, and no rolling subscription. Buy a second period while one is running and the time is added to the end of it rather than replacing it.
